A folding phone changes the brief for a case. There is an outside, an inside and a moving boundary between them. Apple has introduced two distinct answers for iPhone Duo, giving this journal a new design story to follow.

The dates behind the new arrivals

Apple announced the accessories on 9 September 2026 and opened orders on 16 October. The two products are iPhone Duo Case and iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand. Our first catalog check is dated 22 October.

Two approaches to the object

The Case uses a two-part construction. The Folio adds an integrated stand. We will examine those approaches separately, keeping the exact product and phone in view rather than transferring a judgment between them.

Start with the everyday sequence

Take the phone from a pocket, open it, reach the controls, place it on a desk and fold it again. That sequence is the basis of our future review, with close photographs at each point where the case meets a moving part.
